Most consumer industries exhibit two buying frenzies a year - when new products first hit the shelves and when those same products are being cleared out. Cars, fashion, TV's, golf - the list goes on & on. The bottom line for golf is that if you can time your purchase right, you'll find some wonderful bargains awaiting you.

There are two major times of the year when new golf equipment are at their lowest prices. The first is at the end of the season, but before the holidays, i.e. September thru early November. All four majors are complete, the golf year is winding down, & with the impending colder weather, the average golfer mind starts to turn elsewhere. Sporting goods stores are looking to replace some of their golf inventory with that of other sports, and golf stores are already anticipating making room for next year's product. With the start of the holiday season, business starts to pick up again & sales become somewhat more dependent on the overall financial robustness of the season.

The end of the holiday season represents the best time of the year for golf sales to buy new equipment. Merchants become increasingly more desperate to move their remaining inventory to make way for the new year's equipment. If you can restrain your "gotta have that new driver" buying urge until Presidents Day in mid-February, you'll find some outstanding bargains. It's not uncommon for the driver that was $400 just eight months ago to be marked down to $200 or less. And, if you don't mind a couple of very minor marks on your clubs, demos will be even cheaper!
